ELECTRONIC ARTS component : Curator
- In 1987, Sylvie Parent was a curatorial intern at the Guggenheim Museum in New York. The next year, she became associated with the Centre international d'art contemporain de Montréal. From 1988 to 1994, she coordinated numerous exhibitions at the Centre, among others the yearly event the 100 Days of Contemporary Art. She also curated a few exhibitions for the institution : Visions 91 (1991), 9 artistes italiens : entre image et matière (1994) et Roberto Pellegrinuzzi : le chasseur d'images (1990-1994).
- As a free lance curator and art critic, she organized many exhibitions in Québec and Italy. She has published numerous essays in catalogues and specialized magazines, and was a member of many programming committees as well as of public art juries.
- Since 1997, she is editor of CIAC's Electronic Magazine, a publication dedicated to Web art. She reviewed many Web projects and wrote essays on Web art for this online Magazine.
- Sylvie Parent has also been associated with many other institutions in the field of new media art, such as Agence TOPO (Québec/Canada), Axis (Netherlands), Champ Libre (Québec/Canada), ISEA (Québec/Canada), Pompeiorama (Italie), Studio XX (Québec/Canada), TechnOboro (Québec/Canada) and the Walker Art Center (United States).
